1. AIESEC Australia 2008 National Conference: NewCon08
This is going to be an awesome conference, so please register so we can all buy the same flights and travel up together. The sooner we register, the cheaper the flights. Plus we can win the Jagermeister! Plus we get discounts if we are the first LC to register 18 people. Plus the LC will reimburse some of the cost for those who go on Conference (amount to be decided). So go to
http://www.newcon08.com . And look out for an email from your Directors from Tristan, which will contain everything you need to know about conference!!

2. AMUCCT: AIESEC Melbourne Uni Covert Consumption Team
Please email T-Dog (
tristan.watkins@gmail.com) your codename and follow this link (http://doodle.ch/rp2qyhe8p86t8fxi) to select the times that you are available to have a one hour training session where the AMUCCT will look at techniques for faster skolling, will experiment with drinking different things fast, will play a game too, will choose a mascot, our colours, and will decide on our motto. If you can't think of a codename, Laura and Katey will think of one for you. Also, attached to this email is the AIESEC Australia Compendium (like a constitution) and if you jump to page 44, you can read the skolling laws.

3. Applications for Organising Committee teams now open!
We are planning a Super-Event for the Vic region for September. It will be an amazing event involving all three LCs in Vic, as well as inviting externals, partners, alumni and it will be a celebration of 60 years of AIESEC. So we are looking for people interested in being on the OC team. There will be an overseeing OC team of three, and then four organising sub-committee teams. So there are lots of spots. Email the State Manager, Heidi (
heidi.shum@gmail.com), if you want to apply, or want to find out more.

4. Girls Night Out!

Come join us a for a fantastic Girls Night Out Event organized by the lovely HR Team!

When: Saturday 17th May 7pm

Where: Wagamama & Kbox

RSVP: alice.zhao8@gmail.com

5. Volunteer to act as timekeepers for the Student Review Board!

2 SRBs will be held next Wednesday (14 May) and Thursday (15 May), and we
kindly request volunteers to be the timekeepers for
the 2 nights.

Timekeepers are people that sit in on the SRB panel and ensure that
interviews are running according to time. They are only required from 6pm
until the end of the night (11pm or probably will be earlier). More details
will be given to the timekeepers before the event next week.

This will be a really great opportunity, especially for those who are
planning to sit for the SRB in the future, to experience the SRB LIVE!!!!
And of course, FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED for all the timekeepers!!!!

So please send an email to Michael (hlkmichael@gmail.com) ASAP, and state
clearly which night(s) you can come to help. Spaces are limited so first
come first serve, and OGX members will get priority. If you have any other
questions, please send Michael an email as well. Thanks a lot!

7. PBOX: Community and Development Issues Affecting India

India contains one of the world's fastest growing economies, which
supports a booming population set to overtake China in the near future.
It is a country with massive potential for further economic growth, but
is currently facing various issues that slow its progress, stagnating
development.

AIESEC, as part of the Australia-India Young Entrepreneur Program,
presents a forum titled Community and Development Issues Affecting
India.

The forum will provide individuals with valuable insight into the
significance of India as a leader in the Asia Pacific region, rich in
diverse cultural experiences, and aims to address the issues of poverty,
corruption, and the effect of HIV/AIDS within Indian society.

The forum will include keynote speeches from experts in those fields,
followed by general discussion and debate. Participants will have the
opportunity to address any questions they may have to individual
experts, or to the panel as a whole, engaging in an enlightening
dialogue that encompasses the country's increasingly global identity.

WHEN: Wednesday 21 May
TIME: 5.30pm - 7.30pm
WHERE: Wright Theatre, Medical Building (4th Floor), University
of Melbourne
